Well I am definitely in 'writing mode' but I must not neglect 'Kevin'. Following up, continuing to communicate with 'those who have become my friends....' etc. etc.
Today, I came across this and I found it interesting. And possibly encouraging.

note: i have written the below in such a way that that i hope it translates easily.
i did not turn my energy and my mindset into writing to become wealthy. see** below. for me, it is more about harmony, balance, and the coexistence needed to ensure a Sustainable World for our future generations.
( the title of 'kevin' may not suggest this but the subtext discusses such philosophies and concepts.
there is not a mystery in kevin.
there is not a murder to solve.
there is not corruption to fight.
there is not a tragedy with a very happy ending.
when i say this, it is not to impugn or lessen the above genres.
they are wonderful. they are page-turners. they are inspirational.
my book is going into a completely different world. the 'real' world of many ordinary, 'real', people. most of us do not have simplistic lives. kevin should bring you some joy.
it is about what happens or has happened to many of us as we transitioned from young adults to mature individuals.
i have heard from individuals who are in their 20's now. they can relate to the story.
i have heard from individuals in their 60's, 70's and 80's. they can relate to the story but have pointed out some mistakes :)
i have heard from individuals in between these ages. i've met one goal. the story crosses generations.
there are 20+ pages of excerpts on shanekaelle.com
you will not find the romantic scenes in the excerpts.
out of context, the scenes that depict the true love between kevin and gina would seem superficial.
the things that make me most proud about my story are:
the dialogues that take place between kevin, gina, and their friends when they are young (these might be some of the things that you yourself thought about); and the dialogues that take place between kevin, gina, and tim with their own young adult sons later in life.
it is a long story. it is not a typical romance. i like to learn something, anything when i read fiction.
there are many integrated subjects in 'kevin'. some of these topics are things that i am familiar with.
some of the other topics are things that i was interested in learning more about. i do hope that you enjoy 'kevin'.
